(Pinehurst) – In anticipation of its 12th annual Youth Triathlon, FirstHealth Fitness – Pinehurst will host a Parent Information Night at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at the fitness center at 170 Memorial Drive, Pinehurst. The session will give parents all of the needed information for their child’s successful participation in the Youth Triathlon.
(Pinehurst) -- Sandhills PRIDE, a support network and educational advocacy group dedicated to increasing awareness and acceptance of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in the Sandhills, is pleased to announce the recipients of their annual scholarship. The four awardees are high school seniors Madelaine Bradley, Lauren Dunlap, Julia Locklear, and LaShonda Sousa. They have each received $2,500 in scholarship funds.

The mission of the CAC is to give children and families hope for their futures with opportunity to experience successful accomplishments and fulfillment of their dreams. April 9, 2019) -With only a few weeks remaining to file federal income taxes, Better Business Bureau serving Eastern North Carolina (BBB) is warning people to be on the lookout for suspicious calls that claim to be from the Social Security Administration (SSA). Scammers are ramping up their efforts to steal Social Security numbers to use in filing fraudulent tax returns. In 2018, over 1,600 instances of Social Security scams were reported nationwide to BBB Scam Tracker.
The Aberdeen Police Department was able to arrest a 16 year old male and a 19 year old male late Monday afternoon for the attempted theft of an iPhone during a transaction scheduled using the letgo app.
