A female victim was airlifted to a Trauma Center Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in Pinebluff.
Emergency responders were dispatched at 9:30 pm to reports of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on US Highway 1 in front of Nic’s Pic Kwik.
According to officials at the scene the victim who was reportedly believed to be in her twenties was transported by ambulance to meet a helicopter at the Aberdeen Fire Department located on NC Highway 211.
The two southbound lanes of US Highway 1 were briefly closed to traffic while the injured woman was assisted, and the accident investigated. Officers temporarily routed traffic around the accident scene using residential roads.
Responding to this incident were units with Pinebluff Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, NC State Highway Patrol, and the Pinebluff Police Department.
This is the second accident involving a pedestrian in Moore County this week following a man was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer Saturday on Vass-Carthage Road
As of this report the accident tonight remained under investigation by the Pinebluff Police Department.
