Emergency responders were called to reports of a single vehicle accident with the vehicle overturned early Tuesday morning in Carthage. The accident happened on US Highway 15-501 just north of the fairgrounds minutes after 4:00 AM.
The driver of the KIA Optima passenger car was able to get out of the overturned vehicle before emergency services arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital by ambulance with injuries reported as non-life threatening.
One lane of US 15-501 was blocked causing a slowdown for drivers passing through the area during the early morning hours.
Responding to this accident were units with Carthage Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS and the Carthage Police Department.
Earlier tonight between midnight and 1:00 AM emergency units responded to another single vehicle accident with a passenger vehicle overturned.
This accident happened on Short Road off of Jody Road outside of Carthage resulted in one person being transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with injuries reported as not life threatening according to fire officials.
Responding to this late night accident were units with Carthage Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
