The driver of an SUV was injured in a T-bone vehicle collision Monday afternoon outside of Carthage. The accident happened in the 4900 block of Glendon Carthage Road just before 1:30 PM.
The accident involved a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a KIA Sorento SUV.
Emergency responders had to use hydraulic powered rescue tools to open the door of the SUV to free the injured driver before transporting her by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with reported non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic on Glendon Carthage Road was blocked to vehicles in both directions while emergency officials assisted the injured woman and the wrecked vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Responding to this accident were units with Carthage Fire & Rescue, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
The cause of the accident was under investigation as of this report.
