A woman and child escaped serious injury Sunday when their Toyota Corolla passenger car overturned in a single vehicle wreck outside of Aberdeen.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 6:30 pm to a vehicle accident on Roseland Road near Blackbird Lane.
The first arriving emergency units reported a passenger car overturned on its roof just off of the roadway.
The child was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with injuries reported as not life threatening.
Both lanes of Roseland Road were closed to traffic for more than 30 minutes while the victims were assisted and debris could be cleared from the roadway at which time one lane was re-opened until the road could be completely cleared.
Responding to this accident were units with Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police Department, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the NC State Highway Patrol as of this report.
