Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a condominium fire in Pinehurst Friday night.
Emergency units were dispatched just before 11:30 pm to the Linville Gardens Condominiums at 800 St Andrews Drive in Pinehurst for a possible structure fire at unit 218.
The first arriving fire crews found a working structure fire on the second floor of a two-story condominium building.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes of receiving the call and began battling the flames and smoke in the burning structure.
The firefighters were able to knock down most of the fire within 30 minutes of reaching the scene, however emergency units remained at the location an extended amount of time while officials worked to ensure the fire was extinguished with the last fire units leaving the scene just after 2:30 am.
There were no injuries reported in tonight’s fire, however the condominium suffered extensive damage from the smoke and flames.
The occupants that were staying in the two condominium units were from out of town here visiting. According to emergency officials another unit was found for them to stay in by Resort staff who came out to the scene of the fire as well.
Responding to this incident were units with Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Eastwood Fire & Rescue, West End Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshal's Office, and the Pinehurst Police Department.
Most of the damage was in the back half of the top floor of the condominium including the outside deck area according to officials with the Fire Marshal’s office. The cause of the fire was not known as of this report and remains under investigation.
