Two large storage buildings were destroyed in a neighborhood between Pinebluff and Aberdeen Friday afternoon.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 4:45 pm to a structure fire in the 100 block of Robin Hood Lane off of Forest Drive.
Smoke from this fire was visible from US Highway 1 in Aberdeen with the first arriving fire unit reporting a working structure fire and heavy flames showing from two storage buildings located behind a house.
Both of the buildings were destroyed in this afternoons fire along with the contents. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the area of the storage buildings and stop the flames from spreading to nearby homes.
Responding to the fire this afternoon were units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, West End Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
As of this report officials remained at the scene working to determine a possible cause for today’s fire.
