A man working on a jobsite in Southern Pines fell impaling himself on a piece of rebar Monday afternoon.
Emergency responders were dispatched just before 2:00 pm to a jobsite at the corner of Bethesda Road and Hill Road to reports of a worker who had fallen onto a piece of metal rebar.
According to emergency workers at the scene the man had reportedly gotten off of the rebar prior to officials reaching the scene. Firefighters called and requested a helicopter to transport the injured man, however one was not available due to the weather this afternoon. The victim was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Responding to this call were units with Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
