Two children and four adults were injured in a T-bone collision between a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and a Hyundai Sonata passenger car Thursday in Cameron.
Emergency responders were dispatched at 6:21 pm to the intersection of the US Highway 1 By-Pass and NC Highway 24/27 to a vehicle accident.
The first arriving fire unit to reach the scene reported heavy damage to two vehicles and the roadway blocked. A short time after responders reached the accident a second ambulance was called to assist with the injured.
Two adults from the pickup along with two adults and two children from the passenger car were transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with injuries reported as not life-threatening.
NC Highway 24/27 was closed to traffic at the US Highway 1 overpass bridge while the injured were assisted and the roadway cleared of debris.
Responding to the accident were units with Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
