A man was entrapped in an overturned SUV for more than one hour following a single vehicle accident Sunday evening outside of Vass.
Emergency responders were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of US Highway 1 Business and Cranes Creek Road at 7:39 pm
The first arriving emergency unit reported a vehicle overturned down an embankment in a creek. The driver was trapped in the overturned SUV with water running through the upside down vehicle for just over one hour while firefighters used specialized rescue tools to stabilize the vehicle and free the injured man.
The adult male victim was transported from the accident scene by ambulance to meet a helicopter at a landing zone that had been established at the Vass Park to be flown to a Trauma Center for treatment
