(Carthage) - On March 18th, 2019, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the Carthage area of Moore County in reference to a driving/traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, deputies seized: 57.8 grams of Methamphetamine, two grams of Heroin, one gram of Marijuana, Items of Drug Paraphernalia, concealed weapon (knife/cleaver) and $212.00 in U.S. Currency. The total street value of the seized drugs is approximately $7,076.00.
Arrested was Devine Devante Barrett, 25 years of age from a Possum Holler Road, Eagle Springs, NC address.
Charges included: Felony possession of schedule I controlled substance-(Heroin), possession with intent to sell and deliver Heroin, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, trafficking in methamphetamine by transport, maintain a vehicle for keeping and selling a controlled substance, possess less than ½ ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon and driving while license revoked.
Bond: $85,000.00 – Secured
Barrett is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on March 28th, 2019.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
