Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of a West End man for multiple charges including solicitation of a child by computer.
On April 22nd, 2019 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a concerned parent involving their minor child receiving inappropriate messages from an adult. Detectives reviewed the case and investigated the incident further. After gathering information, conducting interviews, and examining the messages sent, an arrest was made in the case.
On April 23rd, 2019 Detectives arrested Maverick Dakota Edmisten, 23, of West End, North Carolina. Edmisten was charged with one count of Solicitation of Child by Computer, one count of Disseminate Obscene Material to a Minor, and one count of Cyberstalking. He was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in District Court on May 8th, 2019.
