Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of two individuals for a robbery that occurred in the Carthage area of Moore County.

On April 24th, 2019, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Carthage area of Moore County for a reported robbery. Upon arrival, the victim told deputies that he was at the residence to purchase a cell phone and during this time he was assaulted by three individuals.

Money, along with personal property, was stolen from the victim during the assault. Detectives responded to the scene to investigate and recovered some of the property reported stolen by the victim. As a result of the investigation, arrests have been made in this case.

Owen Dade Haymans

On April 25th, 2019, Detectives arrested Owen Dade Haymans, 18, of Carthage, North Carolina. Haymans was charged with one count of felony Common Law Robbery and one count of felony Conspiracy to Commit Common Law Robbery. He was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in District Court on May 8th, 2019.

Thomas Edward McIver Jr

On April 26th, 2019 Detectives arrested Thomas Edward McIver Jr, 20, of Carthage, North Carolina. McIver was charged with one count of felony Common Law Robbery and one count of felony Conspiracy to Commit Common Law Robbery. He was confined to the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond and is first scheduled to appear in District Court on May 8th, 2019.

A 15 year old male juvenile was also identified as being involved in this case and charges are pending against him at this time. Anyone with information regarding this or any other case is asked to contact the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip Line at 910-947-4444
