Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced the arrest of Dakota Greene in connection with the breaking and entering to a residence and the larceny of farm equipment in the Robbins area of Moore County.
On November 24, 2016 deputies received a report of a breaking and entering to a residence located on Jasper Road near Robbins. The homeowner reported his home had been entered and several firearms had been stolen. On December 14, 2016 deputies received a report of the larceny of a hay rake from a residence off Browns Mill Road near Robbins.
On December 21, 2016 deputies recovered over $5,000.00 in stolen property related to these incidents and identified Greene as the suspect.
On January 2, 2017 deputies arrested Dakota Gage Greene, age 21, from 6003 River Heights Drive, Ramseur, North Carolina. Greene was charged with one count of felony larceny, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of felony possession of stolen goods. Greene was also charged with a probation violation in Guilford County and drug violations in Randolph County.
Greene received a $175,000.00 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County Detention Center. His first court appearance in Moore County is set for January 23, 2017.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
