A Carthage woman was charged Sunday with multiple traffic, resisting and assault charges.
Nina Ashten Wilkes, age 28, from a Nunnery Lane address in Carthage was charged by the Vass Police Department with hit/run leaving the scene of accident, and driving while impaired late Sunday night. Wilkes was also charged by the Carthage Police Department with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon against a government official, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, two counts of resisting a public officer, and injury to personal property.
Wilkes was transported to the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage where she was held under a $28,000 secure bond. Her first scheduled date in court is on June 12, 2017.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
