As a part of the continued emphasize on traffic safety enforcement efforts seen across Moore County and the State of North Carolina over these past weeks, units from four departments conducted a traffic checkpoint operation Saturday night outside Carthage.
Officers setup a checkpoint on US Highway 15-501 at Priest Hill Road. Charges filed from this operation included the arrest of an 18 year old Candor man for possession of marijuana greater than 1/2 ounce to 1 1/2 ounce, resist/obstruct/delay an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to this arrest citations were issued for two no operators license violations, two inspection violations, four license tag violations, and four child restraint seat violations.
Assisting were officers with Carthage Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
