An Aberdeen man faces serious charges after attempting to flee from Pinehurst Police officials in the early morning hours Tuesday.
Police attempted to stop Chaquwann Carvelle Stubbs on NC Highway 211 in Pinehurst when he jumped from his vehicle and ran away from officers. He was taken into custody within minutes of fleeing by a Pinehurst officer that had given chase on foot.
Stubbs was charged with carrying a concealing gun, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, and resisting a public officer.
25 year old Stubbs lives at a John McQueen Road address in Aberdeen.
He was transported to the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage and held under a $65,000.00 secure bond. His first appearance in court is scheduled for September 26, 2017.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
