The Aberdeen Police Department has announced details for a wanted person after the man fled from officers on foot Friday.
Officers with NC Probation & Parole along with the Aberdeen Police Department had attempted to arrest a suspect wanted for probabtion violations among other charges when the man ran. Officers had gone to a residence in the 100 block of Jones Street in the Midway community at approximately 11:45 am when the man fled away on foot.
Several officers searched a wooded and swamp area around the house for the man however they were not able to locate him according to police officials. The wanted man has been identified as:
Deontea Zequan Ray
Black male 24 years of age.
6' 02" tall and weighing 219 lbs
Officers have an order for arrest on the following charges: felony possession of cocaine 3 counts, resist obstruct/delay, as well as probation violations.
Officials stated that during the foot pursuit of the suspect an Aberdeen Police Officer fell and was injured requiring stitches to the chin area.
