On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, the Pinehurst Police Department’s IMPACT Team and Special Investigations Unit, along with the assistance of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and Aberdeen Police Department, concluded a 5 month long investigation concerning the sale and distribution of narcotics in the Pinehurst community.
The concluding take down operation resulted in the arrest of Dereck Keenan Taylor, from 154 Spring Lake Ln, Pinehurst NC.
Taylor was charged with four counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle with controlled substances, two counts of feloniously sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse for having a small child in his vehicle during the incidents. Additional narcotics related sale and distribution charges are pending in this investigation.
Taylor was transported to the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage where he was held under a $250,000.00 secured bond.
Additional warrants were issued for this suspect Thursday afternoon for 3 counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, 3 counts of felony possession of cocaine, 3 counts maintain a vehicle for sell/delivery of drugs, 3 counts sell cocaine, 3 counts possession of drug paraphernalia, and 1 count of child abuse.
