The Vass Police Department conducted a speed and traffic enforcement operation Thursday morning resulting in over 100 charges.
Officers were setup at US Highway 1 Bypass and NC 690 beginning at 10:00 am.
During the operation officers wrote 86 tickets for speeding charges, 2 no operator’s license charges, 2 fictitious tag charges, 16 miscellaneous traffic violations, and 1 order for arrest.
Speed enforcement operations such as this along with traffic checkpoints are routine tools used by law enforcement as part of ongoing efforts to keep the roadways of Moore County safe.
Assisting the Vass Police Department were units with Foxfire Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Wadesboro Police Department, and Mt Gilead Police Department.
With the summer season residents all across Moore County can expect to see an increase in specialized speed enforcement operations, driver checkpoint operations as well as normal daily roadway traffic enforcement patrols.
