The Taylortown Police Department and Pinehurst Police Department hosted traffic checkpoint operations Friday night resulting in several charges and two DWI’s.
Officers setup starting at 9:00 pm with checkpoints during the night on NC Highway 211 and Juniper Lake Road, Main Street and Juniper Lake Road and on NC Highway 5.
As a result of this operation the officers filed charges for two driving while impaired, two arrest for wanted persons, five driving while license revoked, four no operators license, one carrying a concealed gun, one marijuana possession charge, and nine miscellaneous traffic and other violations.
Checkpoints are a routine tool used by law enforcement as part of ongoing efforts to keep the roadways of Moore County safe.
Assisting the Taylortown and Pinehurst Police Departments were units with Foxfire Police Department, Laurinburg Police Department, Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Candor Police Department, and the Pinehurst Police Department Citizens on Patrol.
With the summer season upon us residents all across Moore County can expect to see an increase in specialized driver checkpoint operations, speed enforcement operations, as well as normal daily roadway traffic enforcement patrols.
