Multiple agencies participated in vehicle checkpoint operations conducted at several locations in Taylortown and Pinehurst this weekend.
On Friday night operations were conducted in Taylortown at locations including Main Street, Juniper Lake Road, and Olmstead Boulevard. On Saturday night officials conducted checkpoint operations in Pinehurst at locations including US Highway 15-501 and NC Highway 5.
Charges filed during the two-night operation included 3 driving while impaired, 8 drug charges, 1 resist/obstruct officer, 18 driving while license revoked, 10 no operators license, and 30 miscellaneous other charges.
Participating agencies included the Pinehurst Police Department, Taylortown Police Department, Foxfire Police Department, Carthage Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Laurinburg Police Department, Probation Office, NC State Highway Patrol, and the Pinehurst Police Department Citizens On Patrol.
On Saturday night a NC mobile breathalyzer bus often refered to as the "Batmobile" also participated providing on-site testing facilities for drivers suspected of driving under the influence.
