Local law enforcement officers set up multiple vehicle checkpoint locations Friday night, Saturday during the day and Saturday night in the Pinehurst and Foxfire areas as part of an enforcement campaign to help make our roadways as safe as possible by removing drunk drivers and other violators.
On Friday charges filed from checkpoints included: 1 Driving While Impaired, 5 Driving While License Revoked, 3 No Operators License, 1 Arrest For Outstanding Warrant, and 1 Expired Tag. In addition officers also made two other Driving While Impaired arrest on Friday from patrol enforcement activities. One of these Driving While Impaired Charges involved a driver that blew a .28 with the other two drivers being charged for .19 and .10
On Saturday charges filed from checkpoint operations included: 3 Driving While License Revoked, 3 No Operators License, 2 Possession With The Intent To Sale/Deliver Controlled Substance, 2 Felony Possession Schedule 6, 2 Felony Maintain Vehicle For Sale/Deliver Controlled Substance, 2 Drug Paraphernalia Possession, 1 Possession Of Alcohol By Person Under 21, 2 Open Container Violations, 1 Speeding, 2 Expired Tags, and 1 Allow Unlicensed Person To Drive.
Locations of this weekend’s checkpoints included Morganton Road and Hampton Drive, Murdocksville Road, Hoffman Road, Monticello Drive and Blake Boulevard.
Participating in this weekend’s enforcement checkpoint operations were officers with Pinehurst Police Department, Foxfire Police Department, and the Carthage Police Department.
Residents across the area will continue to see an increased presence in law enforcement patrols and checkpoint operations as we continue nearing the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas driving season just around the corner and officers work even harder to keep us all safe.
