The following information was posted by the Albemarle Police Department Tuesday evening about a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that included shots being fired at the public and at a police officer on Sunday November 11th that ultimately resulted in a large search for two suspects by law enforcement from the ground and from the air outside of Carthage.  

“The Albemarle Police Department recently reported an incident that occurred on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 about an unknown black male passenger shooting a high-powered rifle from a black Lexus at other drivers and a police officer inside the city of Albemarle.

The agency has received an abundance amount of support from the community, other law enforcement agencies and has assisted us in helping identify the suspect responsible for terrorizing the public.

Today, we were able to obtain warrants on Jeremiah Devon McDougald of 79 Pinehollow Dr. Broadway, N.C. for Felony Attempted First Degree Murder, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, 2 counts of Felony Discharge a Weapon in Occupied Moving Vehicle, Felony Assault With a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Felony Assault with Deadly Weapon on Government Official and Misdemeanor Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
