Four people were injured in a reported physical altercation at the Timberlane Apartments in Southern Pines Friday night.
Shortly after 9:30 pm fire and EMS officials were dispatched to a reported assault in an apartment at 186 Murray Hill Road.
The first arriving medical unit to arrive on the scene requested a second ambulance be dispatched to assist with the injured victims.
According to law enforcement officials at the scene four people including the suspect were transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with injuries reported as not life-threatening.
A release by the Southern Pines Police Department Saturday morning stated a 911 hang up call was received where only screaming could be heard in the background. Upon arrival, the responding officers found a large disturbance taking place inside an apartment between individuals who are known to each other. Officers observed there was a large amount of blood present on the floor, walls, furniture and the individuals present.
One male, later identified as Ronnell Wilson, was missing a large portion of his ear which had been bitten off and was found lying on the floor. A bloody baseball bat was also present at the scene. Ronnell Wilson was in an aggressive agitated state and was demanding that the responding officers shoot him.
35 year old Ronnell Tydell Wilson from an address at 186 Murry Hill Road was charged by the Southern Pines Police Department with two counts of assault on a female.
Wilson was held at the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage under a $25,000.00 secure bond. His first appearance in court for these charges is scheduled for January 24, 2019.
Responding were units from Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
