Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of one individual for assault in connection to a shooting that occurred in the Cameron area of Moore County.
On December 29th, 2018 The Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting that occurred at 118 Helen Lane in Cameron. Cameron Police Department assisted with response to the incident and upon arrival at the scene two victims were found to be suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital in serious condition.
During the course of the investigation Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office identified George Bernhardt Rodrick Jr 37 years old from Fayetteville, North Carolina as a suspect. With the assistance of the Fayetteville Police Department he was located and taken into custody.
On December 29th, 2018 Rodrick was transported to the Moore County Detention Center and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of attempted first degree murder. He was confined to the Moore County Detention Center with no bond pending his first appearance in Moore County District Court on January 23rd, 2018.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
