As part of a traffic enforcement operation in Cameron Friday one person was charged with driving 105 mph in a 60 mph zone and several others were charged for driving above 80 mph in a 60 mph zone among the total of 49 charges made for the day. The operation included the use of checkpoint and speed saturation enforcement areas.
Operations were conducted on US Highway 1 Bypass, Old US Highway 1, NC 24/27 near Phillips Street, NC 24/27 Near Red Hill Road, and NC 24/27 near the Cameron Elementary School.

Agencies participating in todays enforcement included the Cameron Police Department, Vass Police Department, Whispering Pines Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Carthage Police Department, Foxfire Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the Laurinburg Police Department. All of these departments routinely work together as part of traffic enforcement operations held across the region in a focused effort to improve safety for the traveling public.
