On February 25, 2019, Timonte Wykwon Purvis of Bennettsville, South Carolina, was arrested by law enforcement officials in Pembroke, North Carolina, and incarcerated into Cumberland County Detention Center on charges stemming from numerous incidents involving stolen motor vehicles and motor vehicle break-ins throughout Moore, Cumberland, Scotland, Richmond, and Mecklenburg Counties as well as in South Carolina.
Purvis was served warrants from the Pinehurst Police Department regarding incidents that occurred in the Monticello Drive and Prince Manor Condominium areas on February 12, 2019. At that time, nine motor vehicles were damaged and broken into, and a vehicle was stolen from the Monticello Drive area. That vehicle was subsequently recovered in Fayetteville two days later.
Purvis is being held under a $560,000 bond, with additional charges expected to come.
