The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Stacy Lamorris Pegues, 34 years of age, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, for Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 counts) and Manufacture/Sell/Deliver a Controlled Substance within 1000’ of a School.
On March 4, 2019, officers from the Southern Pines Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT), along with officers from the Patrol and Investigations Division, executed a search warrant of a home occupied by Stacy Lamorris Pegues located at 1153 West Indiana Avenue in Southern Pines, North Carolina. Recovered, as a result of this search warrant was over $2,500.00 U.S. currency, cocaine, marijuana, drug packaging equipment, two semi-automatic handguns and over one hundred rounds of ammunition.
Investigators from the Southern Pines Police Department will be working closely with our Federal law enforcement partners seeking additional federal charges. In addition, Investigators will continue to pursue with the Moore County District Attorney’s Office the prosecution of Stacy Lamorris Pegues as a Habitual Felon.
Stacy Lamorris Pegues appeared before a Moore County Magistrate, and was subsequently incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $175,000.00 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on March 14, 2109.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
