The Sandhills Woman’s Exchange hosted two local collectors for the “Ohhh...You Beautiful Doll” November Lunch & Lecture series on November 9th at the cabin.

Over 25 participants were entertained by Norene Cassavant and Judy Kronin, both distinguished doll authorities and collectors. Norene brought large vintage dolls to show but also talked about ‘secret’ dolls and tiny dolls she has collected throughout her life. With over 2000 dolls, Judy brought just a small sample of vintage ‘Barbie’ dolls, African dolls, and famous personalities like George Burns, Louis Armstrong, Audrey Hepburn and Ruby Bridges, the first black girl integrating a New Orleans elementary school.

Chef Katrina and Vice President Kathleen Causey partnered on the lunch menu which included potato kale soup with cheese straws, turkey brie/cranberry croissant, beet salad, waldorf salad, bean salad and flan and pumpkin cake for dessert.
