The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is pleased to announce that the Honorable James M. Webb, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge for Moore County, NC, will be the guest speaker at next Tuesday’s luncheon. Judge Webb will address the topic of “The Impact of the Legislature on the Judicial Process in North Carolina.”
Judge Webb graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Judge Webb served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate’s General Corps as a Captain beginning in 1977, where he was a court martial prosecutor assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas and later at Fort Bragg as a criminal defense attorney in the newly formed Trial Defense Services. In 1981, he became Assistant District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District and in 1990 was elected as a Superior Court Judge. He continues to serve as the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 19D (Moore County).
The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is a non-partisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League registers voters and provides voters with election information through voter guides, candidate forums, and debates. It also works to protect voting rights and ensure fair elections.
