Mrs. Onnie Burris Seago, 97, of Jackson Springs, NC passed away on May 4th, 2019 at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen with her children by her side. She wanted to go home to be with Her Savior.

She was born on February 1, 1922 in Stanley County to Dewey Phillip Burris and Lottie Lena Almon Burris. She was the oldest of six daughters. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gurtie Harris of Albermarle, NC and Mrs. Hazel McLean of Gastonia, NC.

She was preceded in death by her former husband John T. Seago and her grandson Mitchell Allen Seago of Red Springs, NC, sisters Gladys Faulkner, Coelia Shaw and Helen McLaurin.

Onnie is survived by her daughter, Catherine Seago Peyton and husband Martin, of Lansdale, PA., son John Seago, Jr., and wife Martha, of Red Springs, NC and son Roger L. Seago of Pinebluff, NC. She was the grandmother of, John Timothy Seago, (Bobbie), Michael Anthony Seago (Marissa), Christina Nicole Seago and Justin Dale Seago. She was the great – grandmother of John Tyler Seago (Ann), Caitlin Brooke Seago, Mitchell Anthony Seago and Catherine Alissa Seago. She is also survived by her great – great – granddaughter Celena Aubrey Seago and several special nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Seago was a 50 year plus member of the Aberdeen Chapter #259, Order of the Eastern Star. She was employed at the FirstHealth Hospital in Pinehurst in Dietary until her retirement.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6th 2:00 PM at the Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, 4164 Hoffman Rd. Jackson Springs, NC. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Rev. Steven Turner, officiating.
